In late December, Mayor de Blasio and Speaker Johnson appointed 15 members to the Local Law 97 Climate Advisory Board. The board will develop recommendations to refine the law and inform its implementation in the months and years ahead.
With more stringent energy code requirements and Local Law 97's emissions limits, it's critical that new and renovated buildings perform as expected. The next generation of construction contracts will need to change how liability is assigned to ensure this level performance.
The 2020 NYStretch Energy Code goes into effect March 3 and includes many critical changes designed to reduce energy use, which will significantly change how NYC buildings are designed, constructed and retrofitted.
