In Demystifying Steam, Urban Green tackles pressing questions about the state of steam heat in New York City and how it can be improved to save money for owners and tenants, reduce emissions, and increase comfort.
Mark your calendars: Urban Green's annual conference will be held on June 18, 2019! Our conference, Retrofitting to Scale: 50,000 Buildings in 10 Years, will examine what it will take for New York City and other metro areas to successfully tackle this unprecedented challenge.
This January, GPRO Operations and Maintenance Essentials was completely revamped to include the latest O&M best practices combined with a new action-oriented workbook. Students leave the class—our most popular GPRO offering—with specific sustainability measures that can be implemented immediately in their buildings.
Late last year, Urban Green Council launched Advancing Electrification, a roadmap for scaling heat pumps in NYC's large multifamily buildings. We were pleased to host our first major convening last week: the inaugural meeting of the 32-member Advancing Electrification Advisory Committee.
As we ring in the new year, we'd like to welcome a new class of members for our 2019 Membership, Monthly Programs and Emerging Professionals Committees. Thank you to those who volunteered in 2018—your innovation and hard work helped make our 16th year our best yet!
