Speakers

Madhav Munshi
Senior Associate, Kohler Ronan

Madhav leads the Energy Analysis practice at Koher Ronan which is a multi-disciplined MEP, Energy and Commissioning services firm. Madhav minimizes energy and operational carbon across Kohler Ronan’s portfolio which includes museums, performing arts, institutional and educational projects. His team collaborates closely with owners, architects and sustainability consultants to deliver high-performance engineering solutions that reduce environmental impacts and support climate responsive design.

Garrett Bergen
Senior Director, Facilities Management & Operations, New York Public Library

Garrett oversees operations for 93 libraries across New York City and leads a team of over 250 professionals. He holds a Masters in Construction Administration (2015), a Masters in Public Administration (2009) from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (2005) from Marist University. Garrett was credentialed as a Certified Facilities Manager by the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) in 2015 and was nominated by the Association for an Award of Excellence in 2026 in the Operations and Maintenance category. Garrett also serves as a Director on the Bryant Park Corporation Board and has served on advisory committees for the implementation of Local Law 97 for NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services and the NYC Department of Education’s Commission Construction and Sustainability.

Robert (Bob) Berninger
Director of Plant Operations, Energy and Engineering at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Mark has worked at MSKCC for 20 years. He previously served as Energy Manager and Plant Operations Manager, leading energy conservation initiatives, managing HVAC operations, and overseeing energy management systems and budgets. Before joining MSK, he was Assistant Manager of the Physical Plant at Columbia University. Bob holds a B.E. in Marine Engineering from SUNY Maritime College and certifications as a Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, and Certified Sustainable Development Professional. He is a past President of the NYC Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers and received the International Energy Manager of the Year award in 2016.

Adam Sadowsky
P.E., Director of Buildings Engineering, 92NY

The 92nd Street Y is a world-class cultural and community center. Adam manages the maintenance staff and vendors for the facilities as well as all capital improvement projects. He builds upon his prior engineering and operations experience in manufacturing and utilities to ensure the safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective operation of the HVAC and MEP systems in the 270,000 square foot campus with 8,000 daily users.
