Over the course of 2010 Urban Green will offer a number of educational programs that will dig deeper into the details of some of the most important or technically challenging proposals that were released in the NYC Green Codes Task Force report. These events will be organized within broad subject areas, such as Building Systems or Stormwater, with a distinct focus on the technical components of their implementation.
March 24 (proposed) Building a Resilient City An introduction to the creation, mission and development process of the NYC Green Codes Task Force and a detailed discussion of proposals that address climate change impacts and passive survivability issues.
April 13 (proposed) Building Envelope A host of the NYC Green Codes Task Force proposals deal in the need to improve envelope performance of our buildings. This session will examine the technical challenges to realizing a handful of the proposals and will include case studies of projects that have successfully implemented similar systems to those that would be
May 26 (proposed) Building Energy Systems This session will collect a small group of proposals that deal directly with building systems and examine the technical challenges that exist to their successful implementation.
