Join Urban Green’s Emerging Professionals on a tour of the Gowanus Canal. Focusing on resiliency and waterfront, the tour will highlight the 2021 Gowanus Neighborhood Plan that was the result of a decade-long process of engagement with multiple stakeholders.
Come explore a neighborhood at the center of transformation, and learn how the neighborhood’s rezoning presents a framework for civic accountability. The tour will highlight realized and future impacts of the Neighborhood Plan with a particular focus on canal waterfront access, and what other rezoned neighborhoods can learn from Gowanus.
Tour attendees will meet us at the Gowanus Canal Conservancy Office. The route includes: 3rd St Bridge, Canal St Bridge, the bioswales and park at 420 Carroll St, and Canal St Bridge Park. Then join us for a happy hour at Public Records!
