Course Overview

Right-sized mechanical systems are crucial for complying with the energy code. Crushing the Code NYS: Commercial Building Systems prepares building and design professionals in New York State to comply with the commercial mechanical, hot water, and lighting requirements in the 2020 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (ECCCNYS).

What you’ll learn

By the end of this 2-hour course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain compliance requirements related to right-sizing mechanical systems, along with the energy consequences of effective controls and setbacks.
  • Describe how the energy code limits energy waste due to ventilation.
  • Identify the mandatory provisions for service hot water systems in commercial buildings.
  • Navigate the requirements for code compliant electrical systems related to lighting and power.

Who is this for?

This training is recommended for architects, engineers, code enforcement officials, contractors, building owners and operators and students working towards a career in the building industry. Learn more about the Energy Code and if this training is right for you.
