Forward Now:
The Campaign for Urban Green

Support our work in this critical moment for climate action.

The start of 2025 brought new and mounting challenges for our organization. At a time when the need to decarbonize buildings had never been greater, Urban Green faced dramatic budget shifts due to political shifts in Washington, D.C. Specifically, our record award to provide training and education to assist Local Law 97 compliance was caught in the indefinite federal funding freeze. Without urgent action, our ongoing work for a healthier, more resilient future was at risk.

Cities must continue leading the charge on climate progress—and Urban Green is at the forefront of that mission. But we can’t do it alone. To remain steadfast in our commitment and accelerate our work, we launched Forward Now: The Campaign for Urban Green.

Thanks to your generous support, we exceeded our fundraising goal! In just two months, we raised over $275,000—a remarkable show of support that will sustain our team, advance our work to decarbonize buildings, and drive energy efficiency across New York. Thanks to the incredibly generous $125,000 matching gift from Fiona and Eric Rudin, your support had double the impact.

This success allowed us to open our office at 39 Broadway and our Training Center, where we provide education for building industry professionals.

There are many challenges ahead in the fight for a more sustainable future. If you would like to continue supporting our work, please consider our options for becoming an Urban Green member or making a tax-deductible donation.

Hear our CEO, John Mandyck, express how community support could make a difference:
