Course overview

GPRO Construction Management provides practitioners with sustainability best practices and actionable strategies for every phase of construction, as well as how to avoid common mistakes. Taught by highly knowledgeable industry professionals, participants will leave the course with practical steps to direct and manage  successful, sustainable, and cost-effective projects.

What you’ll learn

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the key coordination issues and documentation requirements that are unique to high- performance construction at each stage of a project.
  • Describe responsibilities of the CM and project team to ensure building performance.
  • Implement sustainable construction processes and communicate required information to subcontractors and trades.
  • Coordinate testing, inspection, and commissioning activities to ensure intended performance

Who is this for

This 8-hour training is ideal for a range of construction professionals, including: construction managers, general contractors, experienced tradespersons, trade forepersons, owner’s representatives, project managers, site superintendents, estimators, students and others interested in entering the building and construction industry.

How it works

This class session will be held virtually over zoom on October 18, 9:00am to 5:00pm ET. There will be a lunch break and several shorter breaks throughout the day. All participants must register for the class on our Education Portal.

Registration includes access to six on-demand electives and an online exam. Students who pass the exam with an 80% or higher become a GPRO Certificate Holder.

Instructor

Frank Mruk
Architect and Strategist

Frank Mruk is a founder and executive director of the Center for NY Strategic Innovation, the Boston Center for Smart Building Technology and a Sr. Director of Building Innovations at NRMCA. He was educated at Pratt Institute, Pace University and at the University of Oxford. He has taught Architecture at the School of Visual Arts, the Rhode Island School of Design, Roger Williams University, the Parsons School of Design, New York University, and at the New York Institute of Technology where he served as associate dean for the School of Architecture and Design. He spent 10 years working on Wall Street for American International Group and Morgan Stanley, and in professional practice for the Aga Kahn AKAA winning Architect Emre Arolat. He has served as President for CSI-NY, ASP-NY and AIA-RI. Frank was elevated to Fellowship in both the Strategic Planning Society and the American Institute of Architects.
