This training breaks down the Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (ECCCNYS-2025), why it was developed, and how it continues to evolve to meet today’s building performance standards and climate goals. You’ll become familiar with how the code is organized, learn how to navigate its key sections with confidence, and walk through the different compliance pathways and when to use them. You’ll also explore how increasing code stringency supports broader trends in building decarbonization and where the code is headed.

- Explain the structure and rationale behind the ECCCNYS- 2025 and how it supports efficient building decarbonization.
- Recognize the interdependence of the building envelope, mechanical, hot water, and lighting systems, and their impacts on energy code compliance.
- Differentiate between the various compliance pathways for the 2025 ECCCNYS including required testing and documentation.

How does this training work?
Energy Code 101 is a 2-hour live training, held virtually over zoom, by a highly knowledgeable instructor with industry experience. You are encouraged to ask questions and participate during classroom discussions and activities.
This course is expected to qualify for 2 AIA (HSW), 2 GBCI, 2 PDH and 0.2 ICC credits.
