Below, Development Intern Jeffers Kuo reflects on his experience at Urban Green.
"The internship program at Urban Green Council is far from what I’d imagined a normal internship would be. As a master’s student in nonprofit administration, I had originally thought that the Development Intern position would entail the usual donor stewardship and data management. Instead, I was exposed to many novel aspects of nonprofit development. I had the opportunity to learn about corporate sponsorship, committee administration, event planning and prospect research. One of the most memorable and rewarding experiences was the Urban Green Gala in November. Not only was I able to help with Gala sponsorship and event logistics, I was also assigned to manage the volunteer team throughout the process. Interning at Urban Green Council has been an eye-opener for me. I am grateful for their hospitality and excited for them as Urban Green Council further consolidates as the leading organization in transforming NYC buildings for a sustainable future."
