RELEASE: IS NYC'S GRID READY FOR ELECTRIFICATION?

Solving climate change will require drastic carbon reductions. For buildings, that means shifting from fossil fuel heating systems to all-electric ones. But can our grid support this large-scale transformation?

Urban Green's latest research report, Grid Readysheds light on how power is delivered to NYC, examines how heat pumps will change electricity demand in buildings and shows how electrification can be rolled out to manage increasing demand. Bottom line: there's no reason to wait to electrify.

With a groundbreaking bill to prohibit fossil fuels in most new construction advancing through the New York City Council, this report is particularly timely in examining how the grid will handle accelerated electrification. Read the report, and join us on January 27 for a webinar about its findings.
