Patrick Blanc, who do you think you are?

Doesn't Patrick Blanc know that architects and planners and engineers have been working for years to transform the perception of urban places as livable, healthy communities?  Doesn't he know this is our territory?

If you would have told me one year ago that a botanist (from France, no less) was the person most likely to radically alter our conception of buildings and urban communities I would have laughed a little and shook my head in pity.  But that was before I had the fortune to see the living wall of Musee du Quai Branly in Paris.  This summer I was so moved by this wall that I very nearly wept in public.  It is difficult to describe the mind altering shift being in the presence of this wall delivers.  A thing of almost obscene beauty and limitless possibility.

Can we have one in New York?  Please?
