What’s New in the 2020 New York Energy Code is a free 2 hour online class designed to cover the major updates in the 2020 energy codes across New York State. Learn how the code has changed since 2016, including the stricter provisions in NYStretch and the NYC Energy Code, and how it relates to current climate legislation like NYC’s Local Law 97.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify specific building components that need attention due to increased stringency;
- Recognize the changes in the 2020 energy code that will have a substantial effect on how buildings are designed and constructed;
- Describe the relationship between the 2020 NYCECC and the carbon cap for building energy required under NYC LL97;
- Explain the range of stringency in various jurisdictions throughout New York State
Each What’s New in the New York Energy Code online course is live and interactive, led by a certified instructor with more than seven years of professional building or design experience, a passion for sustainability, and in-depth knowledge of the green building industry.
