Following Superstorm Sandy, there has been growing interest in installing microgrids as a way to increase resiliency of the utility grid. Adding on-site renewable energy generating systems, such as solar photovoltaics and small wind turbines, not only decreases the lifetime cost of the microgrid, but also helps meet sustainability goals of the microgrid owner.

Join us in exploring some of the primary policy and technical advantages to installing microgrids, as well as some of the potential pitfalls. We’ll also hear why microgrids are likely to be a vital component of the power grid of the future.
