“Who is allowed to shape our cities, and how do they do it?” Urbanized, a documentary directed by Gary Hustwit, focuses on this central question by exploring the design of global cities from the perspective of world leaders in architecture, planning, politics, and building. With over 75% of the world’s population projected to live in cities by 2050, the film takes a global look at urban design strategies that will shape the future homes of many.
The film features footage from cities such as NYC, Bogota, and Sao Paulo, and interviews with Sir Norman Foster (Foster + Partners), Amanda Burden (NYC Dept. Planning), Rem Koolhass (OMA), Oscar Niemeyer (ONA) and other influential urban players.
