Essential Perspectives in Green Building

Green building beginners and seasoned professionals alike will appreciate our next Green Building Salon, Integrated Project Delivery: Case Studies from an Owner, Architect and Contractor, hosted by Knoll Showroom.
Integrated Design and Integrated Project Delivery are gaining momentum as organizational models that enable architects, consultants, clients and contractors to more effectively share information, better coordinate documents, reduce construction costs, optimize schedules, and build more sustainable projects. Panelists will speak from the perspectives of an owner, architect, and contractor - all who have participated in a formal IPD process. Featuring Phillip G. Bernstein of Autodesk, Marnique Heath of STUDIOS architecture, and Tom Krajewski of DPR Construction. Ilana Judah of FXFOWLE will moderate.
Thursday, July 9th, 6PM - 8PM at the Knoll Showroom, 76 Ninth Avenue, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Tickets here. AIA Continuing Education Credit: HSW/SD 1.5

Tour: Henry Miller's Theater July 7th at 124 West 43rd Street
Join us for a tour of this Cook + Fox project which brings LEED Certification to New York City’s first theater. Built behind the restored façade of the original 1918 theater, Henry Miller’s Theater uses environmentally friendly practices and technologies including 95% air filtration, waterless urinals, and recycled, low-emitting, and locally sourced materials. In addition to its sustainable features, the reconstruction has increased the handicapped and overall seating capacity of the theater, enhanced the acoustics, added new cafes and a restaurant and (perhaps most importantly) increased the number of bathroom stalls for women.
