Oppositions: Is the Grass Really Greener? - Moved to Nov 2

The next installment of the Oppositions Series, a discussion of green roofs, has moved to November 2nd. Tickets are still available.

The 3rd Annual Urban Green Council Career Fair will be held at NYU's Wasserman Center on December 5. Both a recruiting event and a corporate showcase spotlighting the activities and achievements of high-performance, environmentally responsible companies, the Career Fair connects students and young professionals with esteemed architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate firms.

High Performance Green Building Salon: NYC Street Design Manual Presentation

Join Margaret Newman, Chief of Staff to NYC Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan, for a presentation and discussion of the recently released New York City Street Design Manual. The broad scope of this important document has the potential to transform one of the most visible, important and yet undervalued aspects of New York City: the public streetscape. LEED Core Concepts and Strategies Workshop
October 23rd at Westchester Community College


This workshop provides essential knowledge of the LEED Rating Systems and sustainable building concepts for those seeking a better understanding of LEED or pursuing GBCI’s LEED Green Associate (Tier I) credential. By presenting LEED concepts at the credit category level across building types and rating systems and basics on the building certification process, this workshop provides the foundation required for any 300-level LEED education offering. Real project examples help demonstrate and reinforce learning. Prior Knowledge: Familiarity with USGBC and LEED, or USGBC's "Green Building Basics and LEED" instructor-led workshop or online program. Energy Code Changes: What the Design Team Needs to Know: Session 1
October 26th at Center for Architecture

Starting this month, the NYC Department of Buildings will require that all projects submitted for approval include calculations to demonstrate compliance with the NYS Energy Code. Find out what you need to know. Details here.
