2009 Board Elections

Are you or is someone you know ready to help shape the future of green building in the New York region? Urban Green Council is now soliciting nominations for the 2010 Board of Directors.

Three board seats will be filled by members-at-large who will serve three-year terms in the next board election cycle.  A new seat will also be added for a representative of Emerging Green Builders who will serve a two-year term.

For members-at-large, the Governance & Nominating Committee seeks senior professionals with expertise in existing buildings or finance, demonstrated leadership in the field, a strong commitment to sustainability, and the ability to assist with fundraising and help the organization grow. Nominations are open until COB, Tuesday, November 17th 2009.

Candidates for the Emerging Green Builder seat must be under 35 and have completed an undergraduate or advanced degree studies within the last 7 years. Applications are due by COB, Tuesday, November 10th 2009.

Only members may vote for board members in the next election cycle. If you're not a member, join today or renew your membership to vote. If you're unsure of your status, contact us at info@urbangreencouncil.org. A full description of qualifications and applications can be downloaded here.

Join us for a case study of Battery Park City Parks Conservancy's new high performance maintenance facility, exploring the integrated design, construction and operation the facility's heating, cooling and ventilating systems. This facility is the only project Battery Park City will build for its own use and was designed to serve as an example of sustainable design integration. In addition to complying with Battery Park City’s sustainable guidelines, the project is seeking platinum certification under LEED-CI. here.
