32BJ To Train 1000 Supers This Year
Everybody who lives in a New York City apartment building knows how important the superintendent is - but what is the super’s role in meeting the challenge of climate change?

Reducing New York City’s carbon footprint requires drastically reducing energy consumption of the City’s nearly 1 million existing buildings. Everyone who knows buildings knows that maintenance and operations are where the green battle will be won or lost, so it is clear that supers are of paramount importance.
32BJ, the largest building service workers union in the country, has launched a plan to train 1,000 green building superintendents this year. Good maintenance and informed choices in everything from light bulbs to cleaning products can have a major impact on the health of the urban environment.
Urban Green is proud to partner with 32BJ in this ambitious effort to foster a greener New York City. Learn more about the program.
