
Urban Green presents Michael Adlerstein in the Master Speaker Series at September's Urban Green Expo. As Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, Adlerstein serves as Executive Director of its Capital Master Plan, a five-year program to restore and renovate the historic UN Headquarters in Manhattan.
Adlerstein previously served as Vice President and Chief Architect at the New York Botanical Gardens and was the Project Director for the restoration of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. He will speak about the thrills, challenges, and long-term impact of the UN project.

Green Building Design Fundamentals: The Basics of LEED 2009 and Implementation of a Collaborative Design Process Aug 25th at MTA Offices
This 4-hour course is designed for those seeking a technical introduction to green building design and the implementation of LEED 2009. If LEED is the “what,” Urban Green’s “Green Building Design Fundamentals” course is the “why” and “how.” The course will begin with a fundamental overview and then walk through a series of completed project case studies where the concepts have been effectively implemented. A question and answer session will follow. In addition to professional development this course will provide an excellent foundation for those studying for the LEED Green Associate exam.
