New York Restoration Project's Sustainable Summer Series
Beginning on July 30, NYRP will launch its Sustainable Summer Series! Light refreshments will be served at each event due to the generous donations provided by Angelica's Kitchen, HummusPlace, Quintessence, Spina, and Sustainable NYC.
July 30: Presentation by Sarah Seigal, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates' garden designer for the Toyota Children's Learning Garden.
August 13: Chris Collins, Executive Director of Solar 1, will discuss the benefits of renewable energy and the work of Solar One in promoting sustainability citywide.
August 27: GreenItYourself Green Roof Workshop: Landscape architect Lori Gibbs and green specialist, designer, and sculptor Atom Cianfarani will host a workshop on green roofing, providing neighborhood residents with tips and techniques to gardening in small spaces.
September 10: Marni Horowitz, CEO and founder of Alive Structures, will speak about green wall installations and other techniques to make use of available vertical space to grow plants and discuss ecological gardening practices.
