The studies apply to central (base building) systems and equipment maintained by the owner; tenant spaces are exempt. Panel speakers will review the policy intent; discuss how the legislation will be implemented, including to whom it applies and how compliance will be phased; provide information on the level of analysis and types of contractor certifications needed; discuss strategies for implementing commissioning; and explore the ways in which study results can be used to plan investments in efficiency. See tickets & details.
Tour: Green Roof at Grand Street July 20th at Battery Park City Parks Conservancy
When Chris and Lisa Goode acquired a six story commercial building in the heart of Little Italy in 2002, the goal was to develop the building and build a rooftop residence with a large outdoor space. As the Goodes started to design the space, a green roof presented itself as the optimum installation for comprehensive rooftop garden design. At the time, there was little information on green roofs and the Goodes did their own research and tests. As the general contractors for the development of the building, they took on the green roof installation as another element. The result is an expansive and diverse 6,000 square foot garden installed in 2005. See tickets & details.
