03-04-10: Tour Democracy Now! Studios

March 4, 2010

Tour of Democracy Now! Studios

Please join us on March 10th for a tour of the new Democracy Now! Studios - home to an award-winning national, daily, independent news program broadcast via TV, radio and the web. The approximately 10,000 sf space in a former printing house is now on track to receive LEED Platinum for CI. Brooklyn Interiors sourced 100% of the wood from managed forests, purchased all low- or no-VOC materials, and obtained products that have an abundance of post and pre-consumer recycled content.

This event is free for members at our SUPPORTER level or higher. AIA Continuing Education Credit: HSW/SD 1.5 (AIA credits may also be used by NY State Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors - see Section 17 & 18 on the NY State Professional Engineering page))

High Performance Green Building Salon: Optimizing Energy Use in Sustainable Corporate Interiors
March 18th at Knoll

Join Urban Green Council for a case study of the recently completed LEED-CI Gold office of COFRA / Good Energies. The architects gutted the 22,500 square-foot space with the intent of using daylight as the primary means of illumination. Day lighting is the primary player in the daily reduction of energy consumption—which, at 0.76 watts per square foot, is 24 percent better than code. Details here. This event is free for members at our SUPPORTER level or higher. AIA Continuing Education Credit: HSW/SD 1.5 (AIA credits may also be used by NY State Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors - see Section 17 & 18 on the NY State Professional Engineering page.
