TOUR: AECOM Design and Planning Office
Feb 25th at AECOM

Join Urban Green Council for a tour of the AECOM's New York Design and Planning Office, which recently achieved LEED CI Gold Certification for the innovative use of sustainable design elements. The open office layout serves 40 staff members of the 40,000-person firm. The design involved the retrofitting of space in an existing 1910 Garment District building by utilizing recycled materials, low-flow water usage and energy efficient office conditioning systems. Generous windows offer panoramas of the city skyline and the Empire State Building. Details here. This event is free for members at our SUPPORTER level or higher. March 18th at Knoll

Join Urban Green Council for a case study of the recently completed LEED-CI Gold office of COFRA / Good Energies. The architects gutted the 22,500 square-foot space with the intent of using daylight as the primary means of illumination. Day lighting is the primary player in the daily reduction of energy consumption—which, at 0.76 watts per square foot, is 24 percent better than code. Details here.
