Urban Green Led Task Force Releases Proposals to Mayor's Office

On February 1st, the NYC Green Codes Task Force released its 111  recommendations, reflecting the expertise and input of more than 200 professionals, and covering a broad spectrum of issues that should be addressed in New York's building code.

Over the course of 2010, Urban Green will offer a number of educational programs that will dig deeper into the details of some of the most important or technically challenging proposals. These proposals will be organized within broad subject areas, such as Building Systems or Stormwater, with a distinct focus on the technical components of their implementation.

See the planned events for this series and look out for more announcements in our newsletter. Read the Executive Summary and the Full Proposals, or see news surrounding the release.

Special Film Screening: Robert Stone's Earth Days

Join us for an advance screening of Robert Stone’s highly anticipated film that documents the dawn and development of the modern environmental movement: Earth Days.

Mr. Stone’s award-winning, critically acclaimed work includes Guerilla: The Taking of Patty Hearst (2004), Oswald’s Ghost (2007) and, most recently, the Civilian Conservation Corps film for the PBS American Experience series.

Earth Days is a visually stunning and inspiring film that utilizes both personal testimony and rare archival footage to capture the genesis of one of the most important political movements on modern history. Following the film, Bob Fox of Cook+Fox Architects will lead a discussion with the director. Get tickets and details today.
