GERAUD DARNIS
President & CEO, UTC Climate, Controls & Security

Geraud Darnis was named President & CEO of UTC Climate, Controls & Security in 2011. He began his career with United Technologies in 1983 at Otis Elevator Company in France and in 1985 moved to Carrier, where he held a number of financial and general management positions in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

From 1993-2001, Darnis successively served as President of Carrier’s operations in France, Europe Middle East & Africa and Asia. In 2001, Darnis served briefly as President of UTC Power before being named President of Carrier, a position he held until 2011 when Carrier and UTC Fire & Security were combined into UTC Climate, Controls & Security.

Darnis earned a business degree from the Institut Superieur du Commerce in Paris, France. He serves as an advisory member of the board of directors for the Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute, where he was previously Chairman.

Bob Fox is one of New York City’s most highly respected architects in the green building movement. The only architect on Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Advisory Council for the Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, Bob joins other sustainability experts and public policy advisors in guiding the Mayor’s ambitious goals for the future of New York City. Additionally, he is the Founding Chair and Chair Emeritus of the US Green Building Council/NY Chapter, is a GSA Peer Reviewer, the Chairman of the GSA Green Building Advisory Committee, and a member of the Interface Dream Green Team and the Ray C. Anderson Foundation Advisory Board.

In 2003, Bob joined with Rick Cook to form COOKFOX Architects, a firm devoted to creating beautiful, environmentally responsible high-performance buildings, including the LEED Platinum Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park. In the summer of 2006, Bob and Rick joined Bill Browning and Chris Garvin to form the strategic consulting firm, Terrapin Bright Green LLC. His goal for the firm is to apply his experience designing beautiful, green buildings to a broader spectrum of planning and policy projects, and to help creative clients make a difference at all levels.
