While working on projects like our Annual Fall Gala, our national certificate program GPRO, or assisting with our educational programs - interns gain a strong grasp of both green building and non-profit work.
Depending on the needs of the department, they are either full-time (modest monthly stipend) or part-time positions (two-days per week, unpaid). Spring Internship duration is January to mid-May, the Summer Internship is from Mid-May through August and the Fall Internship runs from early September until mid-December (these dates may be flexible). Catherine Shawn Summer Internship
Urban Green Council's summer internship program honors the life and accomplishments of Catherine Shawn. Catherine was passionate about environmental issues and an inspiration to New York's green building movement. She founded the High Performance Green Buildings Salon - which quickly became the New York-based green building professional's leading forum for staying current, sharing ideas, and networking. As the Salon's custodian, Urban Green Council celebrates Catherine's legacy by making our interns integral members of our office.
These full-time positions (with a modest monthly stipend) last for three months.
